When I was at WIA this last year Don McConnell spoke about using a rabbet plane (or another flat edge plane) to kill arises for a few reasons. 1. you dull a flat blade which is easier to sharpen. 2. once you have "chamfered" the aris, it is easier to register the molding plane in the cut. The super secret 3rd reason is that you get to plane with more planes! Give it a try, it might make the work go faster too.Shannonhttp://rogersfinewoodworking.com/blognoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5318585149114723707.post-64478374857488529592008-07-04T23:36:00.000-08:002008-07-04T23:36:00.000-08:00Glad I could help with that reminder! I kinda have a thing for moulding planes - kinda an addiction thing maybe... :)Danhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03176548997819533683noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5318585149114723707.post-79261877129193284492008-07-04T03:49:00.000-08:002008-07-04T03:49:00.000-08:00I've been wanting to make a sticking board for som...I've been wanting to make a sticking board for some time and keep forgetting to.
