The "Teasers":
The "Full Bore":
Now
the only thing left is to see how fast it sands its way around our wood
rack, and for that we'll hand it over to our tame racing sander.
Some
say, he polishes his teeth with a Nagura stone; that he keeps his
chisels sharp by storing them inside a crystal pyramid; and that he once
claimed to have invented the "nib" on hand saws as a way to pick up
girls. All we know, is he's called The Twig!
Umm....Sorry....got carried away there for a bit...

Jeff - Thanks!
DeleteI loved this part:
This invention relates to a hand tool or abrasive device which may be used for various purposes, as in carpentry, cabinet work, or the like, but one of the particular uses is for cleaning eggs.
Eggs!? What? And there's more:
The slot or opening in the bottom plate also permits the rubber backing to be pressed upwardly therein as shown in Figures 3 and 5 so that the engaging surface may assume a concave shape to fit over an egg whereby the egg may be rapidly cleaned when the device is applied thereto.
What gives? Mine doesn't have that slot or that ability! There go my dreams of cleaning eggs!
I wonder when they added in the ultra cool car body element - it's not included in the patent drawings.
Great lead-in to a good tool. Our adult sons introduced us to Top Gear, and it's now a family favorite.
ReplyDeleteWhere do you find these tools?
Thanks Steve - I found this one on eBay - didn't really need it, as I hardly ever sand anything - especially flat surfaces - but it was way too cool to pass up. I...err...my son can't stop playing with it - driving it around the shop.
DeleteI'll take two, please.
ReplyDeleteGREAT post, thanks! Sanding... How hard could it be??
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteAs I read it I could hear Clarkson's voice in my head.
ReplyDeleteCool looking sander
Neoshed - Thanks! And why is it that there are so few cool looking new tools?
